A continuously running chain conveyor is a type of driven conveyor belt based on rollers where the rollers have been mounted in a continuously running chain and, moreover, can move.
Applications
Continuously running conveyors are used for buffering light and medium applications.
Continuously running chain conveyors are ideal to perform the following with products:
- To buffer products
- To ensure that a specific moment can be used for an operation (for example, for printing, checking or adding a label)
Technically
A continuously running conveyor is different technically when compared to an accumulating roller conveyor but achieves the same functionality where one or multiple products are stopped without too much resistance by, for example, a stopper and where the drive can simply continue to turn. When the stopper is retracted, the products will start to move again.
